Former President Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik paid a courtesy call on President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Thursday morning.
The former President who ruled the nation for the short time after the 'overthrowal' of former President Mohamed Nasheed in 2012, revealed this via twitter.
He wrote that he had during the meeting, offered his friendship and support to the newly-elected President, the seventh President of the Maldives.
This morning I made a curtesy call on HE President Ibrahim Mohammed Solih and offered him my friendship and support. I wished him success in every way. @ibusolih

Waheed served as the Vice President of Maldivian Democratic Party’s first leadership during President Nasheed’s administration. Nasheed was ousted on the 7th of February 2012. On the first day of his administration, the entire nation was plunged into political chaos, with hordes of protestors having been subject to police brutality.
The President’s Office is yet to reveal discussions held between both leaders.
