Prominent academic Fathimath Aamira has been confirmed as a member of the Civil Service Commission, in the parliamentary sitting on Wednesday night.
Aamira, who served in various positions in the Education Ministry and as principal at the Center for Higher Secondary Education, received 73 votes in favour of her appointment.
Aamira also received most marks in committee review, compared to other individuals who put forth their names to the commission. She had received 89 percent marks.
A total of 14 individuals had contested for membership of the commission. The Civil Service Commission is a statutory body that holds itself to regulate state and civil service employees.
