President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has on Thursday appointed three new members to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).
President Solih appointed Speaker of the Parliament Qasim Ibrahim, under Article 158 (a) of the Maldives’ Constitution and Article 3 (1) of the Judicial Service Act.
The second being Attorney General Ibrahim Riffath, under Article 158 (i) of the Maldives’ Constitution and Article 3 (9) of the Judicial Service Act.
The third and final, as a Member of Parliament under Article 158 (e) of the Maldives’ Constitution and Article 3 (5) of the Judicial Service Act, Member of Parliament for Dhiggaru Constituency, Ahmed Faris Maumoon.
The three new members took their oath of membership to the commission, administered by Chief of Justice Honorable Dr. Ahmed Abdulla Didi.
They were then appointed their letters of appointment, at the ceremony held at the President’s Office on Thursday afternoon.
