Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom has on Thursday paid a courtesy call on newly-elected President of the Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
RaajjeMV understands that the meeting took place on Thursday at the President’s Office and is the first official meeting between the leaders since President Solih assumed office.
However, the President’s Office are yet to disclose details of discussions held between both leaders.

While Gayoom called on the Maldives seventh elected President on Thursday, he had on President Solih’s inaugural date, posted a tweet writing that his inauguration was one of the “most inspiring” national events Gayoom had attended. He wrote that President Solih’s speech was full of powerful messaged that thrilled the audience, going on to wish President Solih all the wisdom and strength needed to fulfill his promises.

The former President has 20% in the new cabinet of Ministers of President Solih’s administration, who were sworn in on the 17th of November.
