Religiously conservative Adhaalath Party leader Sheikh Imran Abdulla, who was on Saturday appointed Minister of Home Affairs, has met with the Maldives Police Services’ executive board of members.
The police revealed this through a post on their Twitter account, sharing photographs of Imran, who was recently released from imprisonment, with senior officers.
Police Commissioner Hamdhoon Rasheed had also participated in the meeting. Details of the meeting have not yet been revealed.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has pledged to begin a ‘police reform’ program, to increase police presence and patrols in capital city Malé and to set up road safety and environment police units, within his first 100 days in office.
