Maldives seventh President, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih
Right after he was sworn in as Maldives’ seventh President, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has visited the management and employees at the President’s Office on Saturday.
Upon his arrival at the President’s Office, President Solih was greeted by Chairperson of his transition committee and former Speaker of Parliament Abdulla Shahid, Adhaalath Party’s Vice President Ali Zahir as well as some senior figures of the transition committee.
RaajjeMV understands that Ali Zahir of Adhaalath Party is to be appointed as Chief of Staff’s at the President’s Office.
President Solih had met with senior officials, management and staff from different departments at the President’s Office since his inauguration on Saturday evening.
Solih's swearing-in ceremony took place at the Galolhu National Stadium on Saturday evening during a Parliament sitting. Vice President-elect Faisal Naseem also took oath of office on Saturday evening.
Former Presidents Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, Mohamed Nasheed and Dr. Mohamed Waheed attended the ceremony, while Solih's predecessor Abdulla Yameen chose to boycott it.
