Ahmed Munavvar, the Ministry of Finance and Treasury, is to be speak at the People’s Majlis’ budget review committee sitting on Thursday.

Vilufushi MP Riyaz Rasheed, the deputy chair of the committee, said that they are to look into ongoing projects and new projects to be taken on within the next year.

MP Riyaz said that the sitting will continue with the presence of lawmakers in the Joint Opposition’s transition committee and Finance Minister Munavvar.

The budget review committee sitting for Thursday, the fourth since its formation, will commence at 2:30pm.

The ministry has proposed a budget of 29.6 billion for 2019, the largest in Maldivian history. The Finance Ministry said that the budget includes projects announced by the Joint Opposition government, which is to take office after president-elect Ibrahim Solih takes oath of office this Saturday.
