Maldives Meteorological Service has on Monday revealed that heavy rainfall is expected over the country for the next 24 hours.
As such, MET office revealed that rain showers will prevail in most parts of the country from 10am Tuesday to 10am Wednesday.
MET office predicts scattered rain with a few heavy showers and thunderstorms to prevail in northern and central atolls. Weather is expected to be mainly fine in the morning in southern atolls, with a prediction of isolated showers later in the afternoon.
The department revealed that surface winds will be light and variable becoming north to northeasterly at 03 – 10 miles per hour in norther atolls and west to northwesterly at 05 – 15 miles per hour throughout the rest of the country.
Winds are expected to gust 35 miles per hour during showers and seas are expected to be slight becoming moderate during showers over the country.
