The parliament’s public finances committee has approved for the Auditor General’s Office, a budget of MVR 60 million for 2019, marking a consistent rise in annual funds allocated for the state institution.

The Auditor General’s Office was given a total of 50 million, 20 percent less, for this year while it received 45 million for 2017.

This budget factors in a recurrent expense of 56 million, and capital expenses of about 4.3 million.

The budget has been forwarded to the parliament floor and voting on it has been scheduled for the People’s Majlis sitting scheduled for Tuesday.
