A man has been stabbed near the Henveiru ward of capital city Male’ on Saturday.

RaajjeMV understands that stabbing took place near the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) office, and that the young man was rushed to the hospital immediately for treatment. His condition has been reported serious.

The man was rushed to the hospital with the help of bystanders, reports reveal.

A witness at the scene revealed that a motorcycle, deemed to belong to the stabbed man, had also crashed on the road in the area.

When contacted by RaajjeMV for details regarding the stabbing, Spokesperson at the Maldives Police Service (MPS) Ahmed Shifan denied to comment, citing ongoing investigation.
