Four more suspects have been arrested over the assault in Addu City’s Maradhoo-Feydhoo on Saturday night.
22-year-old Mohamed Evaan was stabbed in the assault and has undergone a chest operation in capital city Male’.
Mohamed Najeeb, the senior community health officer of Hithadhoo Regional Hospital, where he was first treated, said he was also stabbed in the head, neck, and back.
The police stated that they have arrested a total of 10 suspects over the case, one being a 17-year-old.
Evaan’s family has said that he was assaulted by a group of 16 near a mosque.
