The Maldives Police Service (MPS) has arrested two individuals in relation to a shop theft in Hithadhoo island of Baa atoll.

The MPS said that they have arrested a 32-year-old and a 24-year-old in relation to the theft, who have now been remanded for five days.

The police also said that they have confiscated the stolen money and returned it to the owner of the shop.

The suspects are reported to have stolen a total of MVR 1,423. The police are further investigating the case.
