Presidential Election 2018 went smoothly in full transparency: International observers

  • 30 observers were active during election day
  • A Sri Lankan observers did not agree that the election went transparently

International Observers of the Presidential Election held on Sunday have stated that everything regarding the election went smoothly.

Speaking to media at a press conference hosted in Hotel Jen on Monday, a team of observers had stated that everything had gone accordingly during the ballots and that the procedures at the Elections Commission was operated well too.

Observers also stated that no one had attempted to create chaos during the ballots and that the entire procedure was observed to be peaceful and serene.

Even though observers have made this assertion, Sri Lankan Elections Commission observer who partook in the election stated that he does not believe the election as transparently as he had hoped it would.

Over 30 observers had been active in this this year’s Presidential Election.
