Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI) has congratulated President-elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih for his momentous win in this year’s Presidential Election.

MATI issued a press release on Monday following Solih’s win, in which they expressed their hope that an opposition-led government will bring development to all sectors comprising the small island nation.

The statement reveals that MATI is ready to work with Solih to enhance the tourism industry.

Institutions in the nation as well as foreign bodies are congratulating President-elect Solih and his running mate Faisal Naseem for their momentous win in this year’s Presidential Election held on Sunday.

The results on Sunday showed that Solih won with 58 percent, leading the votes with 134,616 votes which is the highest any presidential candidate has received in a presidential candidate in the country.
