A fire incident was reported in the early hours of Wednesday in Thinadhoo island in Gaaf Dhaalu atoll.

The fire reportedly broke out in a parked car in the island and had been reported to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) at around 04:26 a.m. on Wednesday.

Officers of the MNDF southern area fire station in Thinadhoo had controlled the fire within less that an hour, at 05:10 a.m.

According to the MNDF, the car has been destroyed beyond use, however, there were no reported injuries.

MNDF stated that although the cause of the fire is yet unknown, they are conducting further investigations into the fire incident.
