Joint Opposition presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih said that the picture is clear in the Maldives and that, God willing, he will win the election by a huge margin.
Speaking at a campaign event in Sh. Komandoo on Wednesday, Solih said that the citizens are restless for election day and that he will win with clear majorities from Komandoo and Shaviyani atoll.
Solih said he came out to contest the election due to state embezzlement and the overall injustice in the country and that his agenda is to stop bribery and theft and to bring back the rule of law as well as recover the embezzled money and hold people accountable.
He also said that the country should be developed by empowering and financing the local councilors and providing basic services first before moving on to other goals.
He pledged to improve the water supply and sewerage systems in Komandoo and expand the services of the health center. He also pledged to develop the island’s harbor.
