Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) did not contact Mohamed Qasam, says Elections Commission (EC).
EC's National Complaints Bureau stated that they have not been able to determine that the ruling party’s campaign office contacted Qasam, since his seven mobile phone numbers were registered to someone else.
Qasam said he had submitted several applications to EC to request registration in Sri Lanka. All the applications had Qasam’s numbers and after they were submitted, he began receiving calls from PPM’s campaign office, he added.
The National Complaints Bureau stated that there has been no evidence that PPM’s campaign office received information from re-registration applications sent to the commission,
