Residents of Raa atoll Maduvvari island have given a unique welcome to presidential candidate representing the Joint Opposition coalition, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and team.

Solih and his campaign team arrived in Maduvvari island on Saturday afternoon as part of their ongoing campaign tour across Raa atoll.

The opposition campaign team had set off after having concluded their visit to Rasmaadhoo, and residents of Maduvvari had greeted the team en-route to the island.

As such, residents of Maduvvari had encircled around the vessel Solih was travelling in, on speedboats that were draped with flags representing the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) and opposition coalition alike.

While the joint opposition President candidate and his running mate Faisal Naseem are seen being showered with support with many such exciting welcomes, this is the first such welcome given en-route to an island.

Moreover, residents of Dhuvaafaru had also greeted the opposition campaign team with a warm welcome. As such, Solih had arrived in the island on a fishing boat.

While the opposition campaign activities are blowing full steam ahead, Solih and Naseem have visited several outlying atolls thus far to check on the living conditions of situations and to inquire on their basic needs. It is notable that residents across the nation adore the two and they are received in each island with immense hospitality.
