As the whole world celebrates Eid al-Adha, President Abdulla Yameen has called on Maldivians to 'renew the spirit of moving forward as a united community'.
He made the appeal in his official address to mark the occasion, noting that the act of Hajj pilgrimage 'denotes the prominent of unity'.
'In his message, the President highlighted that the spirit of Eid-ul-Al’haa was to extend kindness and share happiness among the Muslim community, and that it is an occasion that reminds us of the importance of upholding the fraternal ties that exist among the Maldivian people', said the President's Office.
He also extended Eid greetings and well wishes to the Muslim community.
