He claims that President Yameen will win 'super-majority' in Thaa toll in the upcoming election

RaajjeMV has learnt that Vilufushi constituency MP Riyaz Rasheed was recently prohibited from flying with President Abdulla Yameen due to ‘security reasons’.

A credible source told RaajjeMV that the deputy leader of the ruling party’s parliamentary group was removed from the President’s launch, while en route to Thimarafushi airport after concluding a trip to Thaa atoll.

Rasheed was informed that he would not be allowed to travel with President Yameen ‘due to security reasons’. These reasons are not clear.

RaajjeMV was unable to obtain a comment from the lawmaker on the matter.

President Yameen, who is seeking re-election in September’s polls, was on a campaign trip to Thaa atoll last week. MP Rasheed was one of the many senior government and PPM officials that accompanied the President on the trip.

The team had traveled to Veymandoo, Kandoodhoo, Buruni, Vilufushi, Dhiyamigilli, Madifushi and Thimarafushi islands.

During the two-day tour, Rasheed had nothing but praise for the incumbent President, and even claimed that he will undoubtedly get ‘super-majority’ from the atoll in the upcoming ballots.
