The Elections Commission of the Maldives has revealed that the commission had received about 95,000 re-registration forms before the deadline.
Speaking to the press, commission member and spokesperson Ahmed Akram said that they have assigned 45 of their staff members to enter all the re-registration forms into the commission systems.
EC previously stated that there is a delay in entering the forms to the commission systems because some have come in bundles.
The commission also revealed that the exact amount of registered persons will be revealed once the entering process is completed.
EC had closed the window for accepting re-registration forms at dawn on Saturday.
RaajjeMV understands that the commission has sent ballot boxes and polling stations to outlying atolls in preparation for the Presidential Election slated for 23rd of September.
The Elections Commission has decided to place 491 ballot boxes across the nation and 262,141 voters are eligible in the September polls.
