Opposition coalition-led government will address the concerns of the youth: Nasheed
He said this in a tweet on International Youth Day
Both MDP and PPM has vowed to focus on the youth if elected
Young people make up a large portion of eligible voters

Former President Mohamed Nasheed has assured that the policies of the opposition coalition-led government will address the concerns of the youth.

The self-exiled opposition leader on Sunday said that their government will reflect the needs of young people.

Also in the tweet, he wished everyone a happy International Youth Day and said: “Whenever democracy is threatened, young people are always the first to come out in full force to defend it.”

Main opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has released a manifesto in which many pledges were made to the youth. Ruling Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has also vowed to focus on the youth if elected for a second term.

Similar to previous times, the youth consist of a large portion of eligible voters for September’s presidential election.
