The housing ministry stated that it will begin issuing applications for the ‘Hiyaa Accomplished’ housing project on Tuesday.
However, during the announcement of the new government housing project at a press conference last week, the ministry stated that it will begin issuing applications from August 15 onwards for a four-month period.
At the press conference, minister Dr. Mohamed Muizzu said that 82,000 housing units are set to be built under this new project, which is a complete solution to Maldives’ housing crisis.
He said that applicants, who should be above 18 years of age and own no land above 1,000 square feet, will receive either a 1,000 square-foot apartment or land.
The ministry did not reveal the project’s cost or its starting date.
