The most common complaint received throughout the re-registration process is that people are not re-registered even after submitting the applications, says opposition coalition’s Presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s spokesperson and Member of Parliament for North-Mahchangoalhi constituency, Mariya Ahmed Didi.
Speaking at a press conference hosted by the Joint Opposition parties in Salt Café and Restaurant on Monday, the MP said that the party’s hotline has been receiving numerous calls from concerned citizens that their registration process is left incomplete days after filling the forms out by Civil Service employees.
Following the complaints by citizens regarding re-registration, the opposition coalition opened up an online complaints bureau where citizens can submit their complaints anonymously. The Anonymous Election Fraud Reporter collects reports of election fraud that comes to the attention of the public and requests all to report any suspicious activity going on at their workplaces or any other institution to help protect the right of voters.
“It is important that citizens check if they have been registered through SMS to 1414. If it has not been completed, citizens must approach reliable sources and get the process finished as soon as possible” said Mariya.
