Opposition's presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has visited several households in the capital city Male’ on Saturday as well, as part of his door-to-door campaign for the approaching September ballots.

Solih had visited households in Mahchangoalhi ward of the capital city in the morning, and had visited some cafés to meet and greet with citizens.

Before beginning his visits to check on citizens, Solih told reporters that the purpose of his visits were to check on the situations and conditions under which citizens are living in as well as to inquire on what their needs are.

“As you know, there is only a few days left before the day of ballots. However, our aim is to meet as many citizens as we can, understand what their situations are like and inquire on what they need the most as when as acknowledging what hardships they face so that the opposition can assemble a program under which their needs will be met in a government led by the opposition” said Solih.

Moreover, Solih stated that they will only be assured if all contestants of the Presidential Election will be provided equal opportunity to campaign when they make a request to provide a site to hold campaign gatherings. Solih added that the opposition coalition does not wish to host gatherings in the capital city and that he hopes equal opportunities will be provided for all candidates vying for Presidency.

The opposition candidate also continued the door-to-door campaign on Saturday evening as well.
