Opposition coalition’s Presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has pledged to establish a water and sewerage system is Baa atoll Goidhoo island in a government run by the joint opposition parties.

Having travelled to Goidhoo island during his Baa atoll tour which commenced on Saturday, Solih, speaking to island residents, said that former President Mohamed Nasheed's administration had placed Goidhoo island and Baa atoll in its list of priorities. As such, Solih highlighted that Goidhoo’s harbor had been developed during the period he was in office.

Highlighting that the UNICEF gives high priority to Goidhoo reef and the region itself, Solih said that the region will receive special benefits and priority during the opposition’s tenure.

Moreover, Solih pledged to ensure a feasible environment for Civil Service employees with the liberty to support whichever political party they follow. Solih further said that a government run by the opposition will ensure justice for the employees who get sacked for their political beliefs in the current days.

Solih said that he will be meeting with residents and council members of the island and inquiring on what the island requires the most and the facilities that are missing following which the opposition manifesto will be assembled and publicized with pledges appropriate for the island residents.
