Fenaka Corporation Limited has provided a temporary fix for the continued power cuts in Hen'badhoo island of Noonu atoll.
Hen'badhoo island council president, Adam Sameer told RaajjeMV that its residents have been facing this issue for the 'past four years' and that this has caused damages to households and businesses.
Sameer said that they have now been provided a 100-kilowatt generator after the residents protested over the matter, adding that the they plan to protest in front of the island's power house if the issue persists.
Noting that this is a temporary fix, Sameer said that Fenaka had assured them that a permanent one will be provided within fifteen days.
He said that Fenaka did not officially say whether they will be provided a new generator, adding that they have received reports that all generators in the island 'are faulty'.
Located around 198 kilometers from capital Malé City, the current population of Hen'badhoo is estimated at around 700.
