Poland's ambassador presents credentials to President
President Yameen welcomed the Ambassador to Maldives and congratulated him on the commencement of his term
The two discussed strengthening ties between Maldives and Poland
President Yameen briefed the Ambassador on his administration’s economic agenda and on the current political situation in the country

The Non-Resident Ambassador of Poland, His Excellency Adam Burakowski, presented his credentials to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom on Monday.

In the meeting at the President’s Office, President Yameen welcomed the Ambassador to Maldives and congratulated him on the commencement of his term.

The President also shed light on the 34 years of good bilateral relations between between Maldives and Poland and expressed hope that the ties will be strengthened during the Ambassador’s tenure. The two also discussed opportunities for trade and tourism between the two countries.

At the meeting, President Yameen briefed the Ambassador on his administration’s economic agenda and on the current political situation in the country.

President Yameen also mentioned that sea level rise and climate change are the greatest challenges faced by Maldives.

The Ambassador expressed gratitude for receiving him and expressed hopes for closer cooperation in mutually beneficial areas between both countries.

President Yameen was accompanied at the meeting by Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr.  Mohamed Asim and Minister of State for Foreign Relations at the President’s Office Mohamed Naseer.
