The Maldives Meteorological Services (MET Office) has issued a white alert for regions between Raa and Gaafu Dhaal atolls.

MET Office said that these islands may experience winds of about 45 miles per hour, thunderstorms, and heavy rain.

The white alert stands from 10:00am to 09:30pm although rain is expected for another 24 hour period in central and southern atolls.
