Parents express concern over closing of schools ahead of President Yameen's visit to Baarah
The parents said that schools were closed and academic sessions halted
They said that all students and parents over the grade of five have been asked to attend Yameen’s campaign event

Parents in Baarah island of Haa Alif Atoll have expressed concern over state-run schools in the island closing ahead of incumbent President Abdulla Yameen’s visit there.

Three of the parents spoke to RaajjeMV on Friday and said that all students and parents over the grade of five have been asked to attend Yameen’s campaign event as well.

Further, the parents said that schools were closed and academic sessions seized but students were given attendance for being at the harbor where President Yameen and his team docked.

The parents also said that they had expressed their concern to the schools, although they were told that they were asked to do so by the Ministry of Education.

RaajjeMV understands that school sessions in other islands President Yameen is visiting as part of his campaign trip to Haa Alif and Haa Dhaal atolls were also seized..
