Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP)’s presidential candidate Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has held several meetings on Tuesday regarding his campaign.
Earlier in the day, Hinnavaru MP Solih held a meeting with Raa atoll’s campaign team before holding one with MDP’s youth wing.
He then held a meeting with the Gaafu Alifu atoll team and also met with the MDP’s women’s league, which is considered the party’s strongest branch.
Solih had also met with members of the racing association to discuss their thoughts.
He also held a meeting with Simah Ibrahim, an active campaigner for ruling Progressive party of Maldives (PPM). At the meeting, Simah gave Solih his application form to join MDP.
Senior members of MDP were also present with Solih at the meetings.
The opposition parties have agreed to field a member of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) as their common presidential candidate and a member of JP as the running mate.
MDP in their party congress on Saturday elected Hinnavaru MP Ibrahim Mohamed Solih as the candidate, while JP stated that it will announce their running mate on June 10.
