The merchants in the local market said that it has become extremely difficult to get crucifer leaves

The availability of crucifer leaves in the market have decreased which has lead to a raise in its price. Currently three crucifer leaves are available for MVR 20. 

The merchants in the local market said that it has become extremely difficult to get crucifer leaves and added that they sell out pretty early in the day almost daily. 

The main importers of crucifer leaves to Male' are citizens of Kaafu Kaashidhoo as well as islands from Shaviyani atoll. 

'Demand on crucifer leaves are very high. They sell out pretty fast', said one of the merchants at the local market. 

Looking at the changes in prices of other fruits and vegetables in the local market, a watermelon kilo costs between MVR 30 to 35, a coconut is priced between MVR 4 to 10 while sweet coconuts range between MVR 20 to 30. Additionally, a bundle of curry leaves cost MVR 10 and while a cucumber kilo costs MVR 45, a kilo of carrots cost MVR 40.
