The government has announced that it will not increase any taxes next year as part of its efforts to boost state revenue.
Minister of Finance Hassan Zareer announced this while presenting the proposed state budget for the upcoming year during Thursday's session of the People's Majlis.
Minister Zareer stated that rather than increasing taxes to boost revenue, efforts will be focused on strengthening the state tax system and making it more efficient.
Minister Zareer stated that priority will be given to closing existing loopholes within the system and enhancing compliance with tax laws and regulations.
While the government has decided not to introduce any further tax hikes to boost state revenue next year, this administration has already implemented increases to Green Tax, TGST, Airport Development Fee, and Departure Tax as part of its revenue enhancement measures.
