Male' City Mayor Adam Azim has stated that the MDP is not a party that merely makes empty promises, asserting that the results of the party's efforts to serve the public will be clearly visible under an MDP administration.
Former Vice President Faisal Naseem, who is contesting the MDP presidential primary, and his running mate Azim are currently meeting with residents of the Greater Male' area to assess the general living conditions and challenges facing the local community.
Speaking to RaajjeTV during a visit to the Rasfannu area on Tuesday, Azim highlighted the lack of adequate recreational spaces in the Male' region, noting that there are currently no suitable locations for families to take their children swimming.
Azim stated that the government is deliberately obstructing the City Council’s ongoing projects at Rasfannu and is now attempting to seize lands under the council’s jurisdiction, including that area, solely to harass the public.
Furthermore, the Mayor noted that although the City Council had established a facility in Hulhumalé Phase 2 to address the stray cat issue, the government had subsequently reclaimed the site. The Mayor further stated that despite having 65 employees and 30 cats at the facility, no actual work is being carried out there.
Azim stated that the issue remains unresolved and that the Male' region is currently overwhelmed with challenges. The Mayor further noted that the government is obstructing the City Council's efforts to rectify these issues.
