Mohamed Saeed has announced that his ongoing hunger strike will continue until state institutions, which he claims have failed in their responsibilities, clarify the actions they intend to take regarding the relevant parties.
Saeed, who launched a hunger strike on Saturday to protest a systemic failure after an individual accused of harassing and threatening families was repeatedly released following multiple arrests, moved his demonstration to Majeedhee Magu with his family on Saturday night after 14 hours.
He emphasized that the ongoing protest will not be suspended until the relevant authorities take responsible action on the matter and provide clear confirmation regarding the specific measures to be taken against the individual.

Saeed further stated that the Minister of Homeland Security, Labour and Technology, Ali Ihusaan, met with him late Saturday. During the meeting, the Minister shared the latest updates on the government's progress regarding the matter, while Saeed conveyed his concerns and the messages he wished to relay to the government and relevant authorities.
"The Minister is paying close attention to this matter and has provided full assurance that the issue will be resolved," Saeed stated.
Saeed previously noted that although he had been arrested between 25 and 30 times over the past 18 months, he was typically released within a week at most. He emphasized that his arrests provided no solace to his family. Consequently, he stated that the family has no intention of ending their ongoing hunger strike.

While Saeed continued his protest, the individual identified as Faris was taken into police custody on Saturday. Despite police requests to end the demonstration following the arrest, Saeed announced that the protest would continue, citing a complete lack of confidence in the system.
Saeed stated on his Facebook account that the protest on Majeedhee Magu has now been ongoing for 14 hours. He detailed the steps taken so far, including reporting the issue to various authorities for a resolution. According to Saeed, the police informed him that extensive efforts had already been made to address the matter and that there was nothing further they could do at this time. He further noted, citing the police, that several presentations regarding the issue have been scheduled for next week.
The National Drug Agency (NDA) stated that he could not be admitted to their facility as he did not meet the eligibility criteria. Similarly, the Home for People with Special Needs (HPSN) declined responsibility, asserting that he does not suffer from a mental illness. Meanwhile, the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO) noted that the legal proceedings could not move forward due to a lack of sufficient evidence. Reflecting on these developments, Saeed stated that this situation is clear evidence of a total systemic failure.
Saeed also visited the Henveiru Police Station to voice his concerns. However, police officers ordered him to leave the premises.
Police have stated that individuals will not be permitted to stage protests within police facilities to achieve specific demands. However, the police emphasized that they are taking all necessary legal measures to address the individual's concerns and are coordinating with relevant institutions to find a resolution.
In response to the matter, the police further stated that they share the concerns expressed by Saeed.
Male' City Mayor Adam Azim has also visited the site to meet with Saeed, who is currently on a hunger strike.
The individual accused of harassment has been arrested and released on numerous occasions. Residents of the Henveiru South constituency report that he poses a significant threat to the entire community, frequently harassing children and the elderly, and has been known to carry out physical assaults.
Reports indicate that a man named Faris has been repeatedly harassing pedestrians and motorists traveling along Kashimaa Hingun and Doohimeri Magu in Male'. Videos previously circulated on social media show him shouting at passersby and throwing objects at them. It has also been noted that he frequently appears in public dressed in a manner that violates community standards of decency.
