ICP launches special activities to mark World Mental Health Day

This campaign includes specialized programs for police officers and teachers, aimed at addressing and dismantling social stigmas surrounding mental health in the community.

To mark World Mental Health Day, the Institute for Counseling and Psychotherapy (ICP) has launched a series of special mental health awareness activities scheduled to take place throughout the month of October.
Running throughout the month of October, these activities aim to raise public awareness regarding mental health and encourage open dialogue in a supportive environment.
A special social media awareness campaign will be conducted from the 5th to the 18th of this month, focusing on providing information on mental well-being and working to eliminate the social stigmas surrounding mental health issues.
Additionally, a special event was held on October 5 to encourage the expression of emotions through poetry. The gathering brought together poets and guests to share diverse perspectives and sentiments regarding mental well-being.
As part of its ongoing outreach initiatives for the atolls, a team from the Institute for Counselling and Psychotherapy (ICP) is scheduled to visit AA. Rasdhoo on October 8. During this visit, the team will conduct three sessions focused on mental health awareness and provide free counseling services at the Alif Alif Atoll Hospital. Furthermore, to mark World Mental Health Day on October 10, ICP has announced that it will also offer free counseling sessions at its main center in Malé.
Special attention has been given to professionals across various sectors as part of these activities. Accordingly, a mental health awareness session is scheduled to be held for employees of the Maldives Police Service on October 15. Furthermore, an information session focused on enhancing the mental well-being of both students and educators is slated for October 24, specifically tailored for the teachers of Aminiya School.
The Institute for Counselling and Psychotherapy (ICP) is a private institution that has been providing extensive mental health services in the Maldives since 2015. The facility offers a wide range of services, including counseling, psychotherapy, occupational therapy, behavior therapy, and speech therapy.
