A safari vessel carrying a number of passengers has collided into Baa Atoll Dhigufaru’s reef.

The incident was reported to rescue officers at 05:11 am on Wednesday.

The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) had dispatched a team of divers to free the vessel.

The collision had damaged the vessel’s hull and the MNDF has had to pump the deck dry.

The ‘Soleil’ had been carrying five locals and six expatriates.
