While six individuals have been rescued from a separate vessel that ran aground, a search continues for three people missing at sea after a supply boat carrying construction materials capsized in the Huvadhoo Channel on the night of October 5. The missing individuals include a Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) officer, a police officer, and the vessel's captain.
While the operation has been significantly expanded, the National Meteorological Service warns that weather conditions are expected to deteriorate over the next two days.
Authorities have therefore urged the public to pay special attention to the prevailing weather conditions.
