President Muizzu nominates two candidates for the position of Commissioner General of Taxation
The President’s nominations of Mohamed Haleem Abdulla and Fathimath Ameeza for the position of Commissioner General of Taxation were submitted to Parliament today for review. The vacancy arose following the appointment of the former Commissioner General, Hassan Zareer, to a ministerial post. The candidates shortlisted for the role include Haleem, the current President of CA Maldives, and Ameeza, who presently serves as the Deputy Commissioner General of the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA).

President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has submitted the names of Mohamed Haleem Abdulla and Fathimath Ameeza to Parliament for consideration for the vacant position of Commissioner General of Taxation.
During Monday's Parliament sitting, President Muizzu submitted the names of Mohamed Haleem Abdulla and Fathimath Ameeza for consideration for the position of Commissioner General of Taxation.
The Secretary General of the People's Majlis read out the matter submitted by President Muizzu during Monday's parliamentary session.
In addition to serving as the President of CA Maldives, Haleem is the Head of Finance at Villa Group. Ameeza, who has been with MIRA since its inception in 2010, currently holds the position of Deputy Commissioner General of Taxation.
The position of Commissioner General of Taxation became vacant following the resignation of the former incumbent, Hassan Zareer. Zareer stepped down after being appointed by the President to a senior post within the Ministry of Finance and Government-Owned Enterprises.
