Solih expresses full support for Sodiq to win the vacant parliamentary seat
Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has expressed his full support for former Addu City Mayor Abdulla Sodiq (Sobe), who is contesting the Hithadhoo North constituency seat following its recent vacancy.

Former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has expressed his full support for Abdulla Sodiq (Sobe), who previously served as the Mayor of Addu City.
President Solih expressed his support for Sodiq, who served as a State Minister at the Housing Ministry during the MDP administration, in a post on X. The endorsement follows Sodiq's announcement of his interest in contesting the vacant North Hithadhoo constituency seat.
President Solih stated that Sodiq has long been a prominent figure on the front lines of the MDP’s efforts to promote democracy and reform.
Furthermore, President Solih highlighted that he was a distinguished son of Addu who had rendered invaluable services to Hithadhoo.
In the post, President Solih expressed his full endorsement of Sodiq in the upcoming election.
The North Hithadhoo constituency seat in the People’s Majlis became vacant following a Supreme Court ruling that disqualified the sitting Member of Parliament, Mohamed Sinan. His disqualification stems from a legal matter involving a proven debt.
