Shammoon Jaleel (Lucas) has stated that less than five percent of the goals outlined in President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s manifesto have been achieved.
He made these remarks while speaking on RaajjeTV's "Noonekey" campaign program.
Shammoon stated that while a comprehensive manifesto outlining President Muizzu's pledges has been published, less than five percent of those promises have been fulfilled to date.
Instead, he noted that during visits to various islands for the parliamentary election campaign, the President has once again been making additional pledges.
He has published a very extensive book, spanning approximately 500 pages, which outlines the promises made during the presidential campaign. However, I do not believe that even five percent of those pledges have been fulfilled.Shammoon Jaleel (Lucas)
Shammoon stated that the government has made entirely new pledges to construct airports that were not even included in its initial manifesto. He further noted that this same pattern is being observed once again in the lead-up to the local council elections.
Furthermore, he stated that President Muizzu has recently avoided traveling to the islands for campaigning due to public dissatisfaction with the government and the failure to fulfill promises made to those communities. He added that the President is now focusing his campaign efforts exclusively within Male'.
Shammoon highlighted that the current administration is heading towards authoritarianism and urged all Maldivian citizens to reject the referendum in the upcoming election on April 4.
