It is deeply concerning that the Maldivian government continues to act in a manner that supports Israel's genocidal war: Mauroof

Member of Parliament for the Kendhoo constituency, Mauroof Zakir, has expressed concern over the Maldivian government’s actions, stating that they appear to support Israel's brutal war.

Mauroof made these remarks while addressing Sunday's parliamentary sitting.

Mauroof stated that with a major war currently unfolding in the Middle East, a prolonged conflict would result in irreparable damage to the Maldives.

Furthermore, the member stated that it is deeply concerning that the Maldivian government continues to act in a manner that supports Israel's genocidal war. He further noted that the Maldives lacked the courage to even issue a basic condemnation of the attacks carried out by the United States and Israel against Iran.

I must emphasize, Mr. President, that the Maldivian people are deeply concerned by the government's actions, which appear to facilitate Israel's brutal warfare.

Mauroof further stated that despite President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s assurances that all services would be provided seamlessly, the reality remains quite different. He noted that the situation is currently having a profound impact on the Maldives' economy and tourism industry.

Mauroof also questioned whether the public is truly benefiting from the appointment of numerous ambassadors to various countries.
