Ferry services between Male' and Hulhumale' have been suspended for over a week, amid allegations that MTCC attempted to mislead the public regarding the disruption
When contacted by RaajjeMV on Saturday regarding the matter, MTCC claimed that the ferry was available and services were ongoing; however, upon visiting the Hulhumale' Ferry Terminal, RaajjeMV confirmed that no ferry was present, and counter staff reported that all of the day's scheduled trips had been cancelled.

Concerns have escalated over the suspension of ferry services between Male' and Hulhumale'.
A reliable source informed RaajjeMV that ferry services have been suspended for over a week due to a mechanical breakdown. The source further noted that it remains unclear when the service will resume following the necessary repairs.
When contacted by RaajjeMV regarding the issue on Saturday, MTCC stated that the ferry was available and services were proceeding as scheduled. However, when RaajjeMV visited the Hulhumale' Ferry Terminal to verify, the vessel was not there, and counter staff confirmed that all of the day's trips had been canceled.
Following the inauguration of the Sinamalé Bridge connecting Male', Hulhule', and Hulhumale', the number of commuters using the Male'-Hulhumale' ferry service saw a significant decline. However, the service remains essential for workers and families relocating to Hulhumale' to transport goods and for various other logistical needs. As a large number of people are currently moving into the "Gedhoruveriya" flats, many have expressed frustration and raised complaints regarding the unavailability of ferry services during this period.
