A young employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has tragically passed away in Japan, just days before she was scheduled to return to the Maldives following the completion of her studies.
The deceased has been identified as 29-year-old Lujaina Thasneema, a native of Thulhaadhoo island in Baa atoll. RaajjeMV understands that Lujaina had recently completed her education in Japan and had already purchased tickets to return home.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has yet to release an official statement regarding her death, and further details remain unavailable at this time.
In a message posted on social media platform ‘X’, former Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid expressed his deep condolences to Lujaina’s family, describing her as a talented and dedicated Foreign Service officer.

Lujaina’s untimely passing has prompted an outpouring of grief among colleagues and members of the diplomatic community, many of whom remember her as a rising star in the Maldivian foreign service.
