Dhiraagu celebrates resounding success of Independence Day Street Exhibitions
Through initiatives like this, Dhiraagu continues to reinforce its commitment to connecting communities and celebrating the spirit of the Maldives.

In celebration of the 60th anniversary of Maldivian independence, Dhiraagu has launched a series of vibrant Street Exhibitions across the nation, bringing together communities to honor the country’s rich heritage and cultural identity.

The exhibitions, held in multiple islands including capital Malé City, it’s suburban extension Hulhumalé, Fuvahmulah City, Kulhudhuffushi City, Gan island in Laamu atoll, Thinadhoo City, Hithadhoo district of southernmost Addu City, Dhangethi island in Alif Dhaal atoll, and Eydhafushi island of Baa atoll, featured striking artworks inspired by national symbols and traditional motifs. The creative showcase draws inspiration from Dhiraagu’s 2025 calendar, “Minivankan Mathee Abadhah”, translated means “Forever Independent”, designed to mark six decades of sovereignty.

We are honored to celebrate this historic 60-year milestone by showcasing the rich culture and heritage of the Maldives, while bringing communities together through this nationwide initiative"

Naiya Shareef, Manager, Brand and Events at Dhiraagu.

The street art exhibition was held in Malé City from July 27 – 28 and across Hulhumalé, Fuvahmulah, Kulhudhuffushi, Gan, Thinadhoo, Hithadhoo, Dhangethi and Eydhafushi from July 26 – 27, with each location offering an immersive cultural experience aimed at fostering national pride and unity.
