Dhiraagu has officially opened registration for the highly-anticipated 2025 edition of the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR).

The announcement was made at a special press conference held at the Dhiraagu Head Office on Tuesday. Participants can now register online at dmrr.dhiraagu.com.mv for one of four race categories: Half Marathon, 10K, 5K Open, and 5K Corporate Team.

This year’s DMRR marks an exciting new chapter as we introduce a newly certified route designed to enhance the overall race experience for our runners. We are looking forward to seeing increased participation in the corporate team category, alongside athletes from across the globe. Our goal is to continue fostering, a culture of fitness, competitive spirit, and community engagement through DMRR.”

Mirshan Hassan, Director, Brand and Marketing Communications at Dhiraagu.

Now in its 16th year, the DMRR is set to take place on Friday, 24 October 2025, at Central Park in Hulhumalé. A total prize pool of MVR 280,000 will be awarded to top finishers across all categories.

DMRR is the Maldives’ first and only international running event, recognized globally through its listing on the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) World Running calendar. With a World Athletics-certified race route, DMRR stands as the nation’s largest annual run, uniting participants from across the Maldives and around the world.

DMRR 2025 continues its longstanding commitment to social impact by dedicating this year’s event once again to the cause of child protection, a key focus of Dhiraagu’s corporate social responsibility programme. The event will serve as a platform for local NGOs to advocate for children's rights and raise essential funds for their initiatives.

To support this cause, Dhiraagu will contribute MVR 200,000 to the top five endorsed NGOs nominated by participants during the registration process. Additionally, MVR 100 from each participant’s registration fee, as well as proceeds from special bib number sales, will be equally distributed among these endorsed NGOs.

Registration for DMRR 2025 is now open and will close once the 4,000-participant limit is reached. Interested runners are encouraged to secure their spots early at.
