Ministers, MPs instructed to repost Pres. Muizzu’s posts on ‘X’
Government ministers and MPs are being instructed to repost Muizzu's social media posts on platform X
Only 15 out of 75 parliamentarians support Muizzu with many ruling party members criticizing his policies
Muizzu reportedly has less than 10 percent support in the country according to MP Abbas

MP for Velidhoo constituency Mohamed Abbas has stated that government ministers and Members of Parliament are being instructed to repost President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu’s posts made on social media platform ‘X’.

Abbas made these comments while speaking on Raajje TV's ‘Fala Surukhee’ programme on Thursday.

Heavily criticizing the president’s policies, the lawmaker said that there is no support for President Muizzu in the country today.

The lawmaker stated that out of the 75 parliamentarians in the 20th People's Majlis, where the government holds a super majority, only 15 lawmakers support President Muizzu, with no other members backing him.

Further, he said that a large portion of the lawmakers belonging to the main ruling People’s National Congress (PNC) are now against President Muizzu's policies. He added that these lawmakers are not at all satisfied and are currently heavily criticizing President Muizzu's policies.

The lawmaker also mentioned that he has heard these members expressing dissatisfaction and criticism about President Muizzu's policies to the constituents they meet.

Abbas said that the law passed to remove parliamentary seats is a law passed through President Muizzu's deceit, but as things stand now, the lawmaker won't lose their seats even if they change parties.

He went on to reveal that although the law to remove seats has been passed, the parliament still needs to make a regulation, which hasn't been done yet. Therefore, until the parliament makes the required regulation, lawmakers will not lose their seats.

Given the current situation, Abbas said he has no doubt that if solutions are not found for the major issues facing the country with President Muizzu's mindset, the government will lose its super majority within about a year.

The lawmaker said that in the current situation, President Muizzu doesn't even have 10 percent support in the island nation.

Abbas stated that about two weeks ago, all the ministers of the current government were summoned and questioned for not reposting President Muizzu's posts on ‘X’.

He stated that state ministers and parliament members affiliated with the government have been instructed to frequently repost President Muizzu's posts on ‘X’.

Abbas further stated that the president is at a loss because he knows there is no support for him currently. He also said that even the president himself is very clear about how things are unfolding now.
