Indian troops have begun operations at Velana International Airport (VIA) to oversee security measures for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's official visit to the Maldives.
According to a reliable source, Indian troops will be primarily responsible for managing the security aspects of the visit.
It has been reported that the vehicles to be used by PM Modi during his visit have also been brought to VIA from India.
Taking to social media platform ‘X’ on Wednesday before departing for an official visit to the United Kingdom, the Indian Prime Minister stated that he would be visiting the Maldives on July 25 at the invitation of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
It has also been reported that after arriving in the Maldives on July 25, the Prime Minister will be heading to Kurumba Village Resort, where he is scheduled to stay.
