The body of Abdul Rahman, who was found brutally murdered in Maalhos island of Alif Alif atoll, has been brought to the capital Malé City for a post-mortem examination.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) revealed that in connection with the murder that occurred on Saturday night in Maalhos, they have decided to conduct a post-mortem examination on the body of the deceased, Abdul Rahman Adam, 65 of Orchid Mage, AA. Maalhos.
The police institution further stated that the decision was made to determine the exact cause of death and to gather evidence necessary for the investigation.
In the incident, which occurred in the early hours of July 13, Abdul Rahman Adam, who was sleeping at home, sustained severe injuries. He passed away at dawn while receiving treatment at the island’s health center. According to available information, his head was smashed with an object.
As the investigation progresses, the deceased's body has now been brought to Malé City for further analysis and to make arrangements for the post-mortem examination.
According to sources, Abdul Rahman's family does not want a post-mortem examination to be conducted. The family stated that they do not wish for the post-mortem because they don't want to inflict any further harm to the body.
So far, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.
However, the police continue to be active on the island regarding the case.
People are prohibited from leaving the island without police permission, and the police are monitoring those who enter and exit the island as well.
