A woman has been injured after falling from the second floor of a house in the capital Malé City.
The Maldives Police Service (MPS) on Sunday revealed that a case was reported at around 4am on Saturday night about a 42-year-old Maldivian woman falling from the second floor of a house in Mahchangoalhi ward of the capital city.
The police stated that they have received information that the woman's kneecaps in both legs were dislocated and fractured in the fall.
She is currently receiving treatment at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH). However, no further details about the case have been shared.
Further investigations are currently underway in connection with the case.
Recently, an incident where a young woman was found fallen on a roof in Malé City gained significant public attention. The case of 21-year-old Hawwa Yumnu Rasheed, who was found fallen on the roof of a warehouse from H. Fentenoy in the early hours of April 18, is being investigated as a serious matter, with the family claiming that she “did not fall on her own”.
